Remember the "golden rule:" treat others like you want to be treated! (Two quizzes and one test left). Have a great Summer!

Testing

boy taking test

Don't forget next week is ARMT testing (Tue and Wed).  Many things we have done in Social Studies will also help in testing areas.  Think about all the maps, graphs, reading, writing, projects, and thinking we've done since August.  This will give you even MORE brain power for testing! Remember to take your time, get enough sleep and eat breakfast.  Get ready to SHOW OFF how much you know!

WWII

Using a text book and discussing things, is one way of learning. However, in a time of war, like WWII, technology can make history come alive. Our country and others really sufffered to get where we are today....freedom!
***Don't forget that your permission slip to view various WWII video clips must be turned in by Monday, NO later than Tuesday, Febuary 14th.****

Transition week...

This week we will be taking a break from normal note taking... For a day or so, we will be discussing trademarks and advertising.  You will see what process is taken by government...from logos, trademarks, and patents--late 1800s up to 2012!

We will also spend one class period on Eleanor Roosevelt and see how she influenced America. Remember she was married to FDR during The Great Depression.

Next, we are heading into WW11.

Coming up...

Students/Parents,

Here's what you can expect coming up in Social Studies. We will have a bell work test this week.  As always, it's open notebook.  If you are copying and doing your daily work, making an "A" is a guarantee!

Next Friday is our note test from the 1920's/Jazz Age.

Your time capsules have been very interesting!  I hope some of you really do bury them and come back in ten or twenty years to discover what you and the world was up to in 2011!  Has anyone thought about putting part of our class blog in one?  :)
