End of the Year!

I hope everyone has had a great first sememster! We will have a bell work test tomorrow. 

 Hats off to most of the AP students! You did a great job on your WW1 projects!

Everyone should have two sections of notes from the 1920s.  We will pick up there after Christmas break, so keep up with them!

This week, we will be discussing WW1.  We will have a bell work test this Friday, Dec. 2nd and our notes test the following Friday, Dec. 9th. 

November 14th

Our next test will be this Friday, November 18th.  This will be on The Spanish American War. Study your notes!

War...

Unfortunately, our country has been through several wars.  That's just part of our history and makes us who we are!  Next week, we will begin studying The Spanish American War and from there, going into World War One (WW1). Our Next test will be a bell work test on  Friday.  Note test (on wars) will be the following week.

Students: this is an example of a simple politcal cartoon.  Bring in one before Friday (Nov. 4th), and recieve bonus points.  MAKE SURE you understand it's meaning!  Part of our notes will be on this topic.

Friday, be ready for your bell work test.  If you have been absent, please copy another student's BEFORE the test!

This week we will move into Ch. 21.  Some of our topics will be: women's sufferage, KKK, and political cartoons. STUDY your notes in small chunks!

Announcement:

Next week, we will be testing on Thursday (October 20th) instead of Friday.  This will be information from our notes on immigrants in the early 1900s...  Remember to study in "chunks," which are little bits at a time!

Coming up next...

Hello all you blog followers! Most everyone's first project looked really good!

For those of you that still cannot post on the blog, I am checking on that.

Coming up next...we will begin studying about early American immigrants, cities being formed, changing cultures (art, music, leisure time...).  Remember all Social Studies test are given on Friday.

Starting the week of September 26th, we will be discussing various inventors and their inventions.  Remember that projects are due on Wednesday, October 5th (letter went home this week).

Our next test will be a bell work test on Friday, September 30th (always open note book). The invention test will be the following Friday, October 7th.

Upcoming events!

-Open house at MMS--tomorrow night (Tuesday), 6:00.

-Letter discussing our first project is going home Wednesday

-Test on Western Frontier Friday

Starting Monday, September 12th, we will begin Ch. 18 (Western Frontier).  Notes will be taken in class.  We will also be using our text book and viewing several clips from the promethean board and other sources.  Information about our first project will be going out (letter home) within the next week!

Test...

Students AND Parents,

Hopefully this will help as far as when we test and how it is done.

Bell Work Test----these are ALWAYS open notebook.  There's nothing you can study for.  Basically it's for accountability and organization.  We have these test every other week (first one is tomorrow). Bell Work is short morning assignments that get class started.

"Note" Test--these are usually every other week and are based on notes from the topic/chapter that we are covering.  A text book is not needed to study. Our first note test is next week (Bill of Rights).
